This work deals with the synthesis and characterization of complexes of a heavy metal with various biological ligands. Following the synthesis of the complexes with a range of ligands, their characterization was undertaken. Different analytical techniques like semi-micro analysis, UV-Visible spectroscopy, infra-red spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and magnetic susceptibility were employed for this purpose.

An effort has been made to examine the electrochemical properties of copper (II) solution in the absence and presence of an amino acid, L-Histidine. For the study of redox behaviour of copper (II) solution cyclic voltammter was used. Cyclic voltammograms were recorded by varying different parameters like scan rate, mole ratios. Assessment of interfacial behavior was also performed by this technique.
