Little Raven Francis greatest wish is a sled because he would like tobogganing. But he only gets skates for his birthday. Unfortunately, he does not succeed at ice skating and after a few painful falls, he gives up skating and tries again to get hold on a sled. During his search he meets friendly and less friendly animals. They all give him good advices, most of them not very helpful.
