Hydropower seems to be an appreciable renewable source. Its use, at low head sites, can be extended in the future. This book, therefore, provides an investigation of this promising resource. The performance of low head Hydraulic Air Compressor is both experimentally and theoretically investigated for various air admission system parameters (air tube length and diameter), downcomer length and hydraulic head. The results are both presented and discussed. The losses in the whole system are classified and investigated.

This work aimed to create a whole picture of the dilute phase gas-solid flow behavior and characteristics in 90 duct bend, in order to address the lack of understanding of such system. An understanding of the role of particle properties such as size, and size distribution or erosion pattern will probably provide the solution to the problem. One of the major problems in pneumatic conveying systems is the erosive wear of pipelines. The study aims also to get a better understanding of the main parameters that affect the erosion process in bends.
