In a warm and welcoming conversational style the author takes the reader to exciting Caribbean experiences: Puerto Rico kidnap; buy the baby in Haiti; co-pilot to a sick pilot; hunkering down to a killer hurricane; Montserrat when the lid blew off; trailing the U.S. military in Grenada; burying an island character in Saba. Sounds like fun to me.

Oh, the freedom...freedom from workaday pressures, yes. But this book also explores the freedom the 55+ population takes from the limitations on their social lives imposed by their earlier responsibilities. "Who's to know? The people in this community have no idea what I used to be. I can be anybody, anything I want to be. I can do anything I want to do, and it matters not that I never did that before, nor that I know absolutely nothing about it.
