Helpless victims of a decaying society are its children. Some are swept up into foster care or as -Wards of the State. Others flee for their own safety, living in bushes, hollow tree stumps or other sheltered spots in the surrounding Redwood forest. All live day-to-day, on the edge. All rely on their wits to stay alive. This is the story of an unlikely rescuer who saves who he can, and devises a plan to save all of them.
