The effort summarized preparation of metal chelates containing 4-carboxaldehyde-2-pyrazolin-5-one Schiff bases as ligand. Structural and spectroscopic properties of Schiff bases as well as metal chelates were studied on the basis of NMR (13C) spectra, IR spectrum and elemental analyses. The attempt summarized preparation of 4-carboxaldehyde-1-phenyl-3methyl-2-pyrazolin-5-one and their Schiff bases with p-phenylenediamine and benzidine. Structural and spectroscopic properties of neutral bidentate ligands were studied on the basis of mass spectra, NMR (1H and 13C) spectra, FT-IR spectrum and elemental analyses.
