As a teenager, James Ellis, an American Indian, rejected his grandfather's teachings, his heritage and his culture. It was a bitter parting that cut deeply. Now a Colonel in the United States Air Force, Ellis, for political reasons, is assigned a mission to fly over a nuclear bomb test site, a cavern in Nevada.
