In 1864, as the massive Union Army approaches the Wilderness, Amanda and Luke are forced to flee to Richmond. In 2014, Airline pilot, Jack Stewart, is in a coma and transcends time to travel with them. A psychopathic killer becomes obsessed with them as they journey deep into the tangled Wilderness and struggle to remain one heart-pounding step ahead of the Civil War.
