The novel Tsunami is the successful presentation of the deadliest Bhola Cyclone of 11 November 1970 that hit the southern coastal districts of Bangladesh and took away 300,000 - 550,000 lives creating a storm surge of about 35 ft. The story of the novel resulted from the eyewitness experience of the playwright Abdul Muttalib.
