District Attorney Joshua Edward Travers is just settling into his new role as Solita County's top cop. Finally in charge, he unexpectedly finds himself on the horns of a dilemma, as he studies the strange missive from a woman named Dawn O'Mara. Mrs. O'Mara's late husband, Tommy Deen, was mortally wounded trying to repossess a debtor's pickup truck for the Houston used car lot that sold it to him, and she insists TD's killer beat the rap. It's not that Travers is unsympathetic to the widow's professed plight. But, he has no legal jurisdiction outside of Solita County, CA. The case is in Texas....
