Although this book concerns Francis Bacon (1909-1992) it also addresses other issues. Firstly this is a critique that includes a survey of all Bacon's work and not just a selection. Of prime importance, for me, is the status of artistic cognition with respect to understanding the nature of the world we inhabit.
