A major role in synthetic organic chemistry is played by organoboron compounds, among which arylboronic acids have come out in an important position. Arylboronic acids are very significant in modern organic chemistry, bioorganic, medicinal and materials chemistry. Arylboronic acids are mild Lewis acids which are usually stable and easy to handle, making them essential to organic synthesis.
