The Horticultural Society was losing membership and finances. The village church was facing increasing costs which threatened their ability to pay the Parish Share, and the new landlord of the Mooning Gargoyle followed a succession of failed landlords, whose pubs were closing as supermarkets supplied cheaper alcohol and the internet provided social intercourse. What all three organisations needed were new members, and it wasn't long before they started to copy ideas from one another, using technology to help.
