This is a basic guide to coxing on a rowing team; written at the high school level, but is also applicable for beginners at the college level as well. It covers the terminology, directions, expectations and various other topics that all coxswains should be familiar with in order to perform well for their crew. Coxing is a job unlike any other in the athletic world and it is very difficult to both teach and learn. There is not much help for beginning coxswains out there, so this is at least a start. Good luck
