Thomas Jefferson Fields was proud of his Cherokee heritage. He married Alta Hutchison in 1907 and together they had ten children. He lost his sight but that didn't hamper him at all. He loved to play the harmonica and tell stories to his grandchildren. He was known to many as Papa Fields, and Mama Fields would often write down the stories and poems that Papa would tell. This book is to share some of those stories for future generations to remember the words of Papa Fields.

Inspired by my granddaughter, Gracie, to publish some poems, this little book shares the stories of Stewert the Spider, The Little Red Bird, The Newborn Unicorn, Bruce The Mighty Buffalo, The Train Ride, Our Old House and My Little Pony.

I have been writing since the age of 16. Of the many poems that I have, 'My Collection of Words' shares some of those that I have written for friends, family and things that were very special to me. If you enjoy the poems in this book, I also have 'My Second Collection of Words' that continues. I hope that you enjoy and that they spark a good memory and put a smile in your heart.
