This report on the German results of the Integration of the Second Generation in Europe (TIES) survey looks at the integration process for second-generation inhabitants of Turkish and Yugoslavian backgrounds living in Berlin and Frankfurt. A common expectation in migration research is that second-generation immigrants in Europe should already be gaining equality with the majority population, a process that should lead to complete assimilation for subsequent generations.
