This work reports the synthesis and characterization of an artificial light harvesting antenna system, wherein semiconducting nanorods have been used as a support to assemble organic donor- acceptor moieties. The donor-acceptor molecules were assembled on the surface of semiconducting nanorods by grafting. Porphyrins and quinines were used as donors and acceptor molecules. The fashion of co-grafting and porphyrin to quinone ratios were studied which showed donor-accepter interaction significantly.
