This work addresses the area of the data compression as it is applicable to the image processing. An analysis of the Discrete Cosine Transformation, Wavelet Transformation (Haar Transformation) and Simultaneous Encryption and Compression are made. These three image compression strategies are examined for their relative effectiveness.
