In 1989 a group of artists were renting studio space together in order to save money. They called their combination of studios and exhibition space The Artists Gallery. And thus, a new artists' co-operative in Virginia Beach was born. The Artists Gallery has thrived, becoming a focal point for local fine art in Virginia Beach. It is a place where artists create work, collaborate with each other and sell their artwork. It's also a place for the local community to gather for openings and special events.
