Pearl Crow is a dhampire half human half vampire and born for the sole purpose of marrying the Father the oldest and most powerful of all the vampires. After years of living with her vampire family Pearl rejects the vampire way of life and tries to escape to lead her own life and atone for the deeds she committed as a child but her family won't make it easy for her to escape and the Father is not ready to let his bride go either. She decides she has only one choice and one shot at redemption she must fight.

The Father is the oldest and most powerful vampire in the world and he is planning something awful. When Cain Armstrong and Pearl Crow stop him by stealing a powerful jewel from him the Father sends out his assassins to kill Cain, cripple Pearl and get the jewel back, but there is more to one of the assassins than Cain and Pearl first think. This leads them to travel to Germany where they must confront a powerful vampire who is said to be a seer but she is known as the Blind Wolf.
