This computational interface for hydropower plants was developed with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and tested using some available data from Jebba hydropower station. This is to validate its functionality due to non- availability of data for small hydropower plants which the interface is originally designed for. Hitherto several other methods have been used in hydropower computation, these methods range from manual computation with the use of pen and paper to the use of Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, some others utilize Visual Basic to commercial software. This interface was designed to compute...

Computational interface for the determination of optimal tilt angle for solar photovoltaic systems in selected locations in Nigeria was developed, and result validated by comparison with similar package such as Photovoltaic Geographic Information System (PVGIS). Monthly clearness index values for each selected cities in the six regions of Nigeria were used as representative clearness index to generate the optimal tilt angles for geographical regions in Nigeria. The yearly angle of tilt of a solar panel installed in any region in Nigeria is approximately equal to the latitude of the region.
