Josie is a young girl that has been sold to an uninvited guest that wonders to her fathers plantation. Her father is in need of money so he sells her off. Josie learns very quickly that this gentleman has something to offer her that she cannot and will not refuse. Once this offer is given Josie learns quickly that this is what was meant to be for her, but later in life she finds herself alone. The story begins 500 years into her gift and ending with having to choice between her lover Tidden and her maker Sesures and the beginning of war between her and her own kind.

Julie was a simple girl within a little sleepy town, where everyone knew everybody. Nothing ever happens here, that is, until a tall mysterious stranger comes into town and sweeps Julie off her feet. Julie falls for the mysterious Shane Locklen right from the start and thinks that he can do no wrong. What Julie doesn't know is that this is Shane's plan. What seems so nice and gentle at the beginning turns out to be dark and cold with Shane's love for Julie being nothing but a sacrifice for his father.
