Mithun (Bos frontalis) is a unique free - range bovine species available in the North Eastern hill (NEH) region of India. Recent statistics indicates that the mithun population is decreasing gradually in NEH region. Various factors are influenced and some of the factors are lack of proper feeding management and declining land area for grazing in this region.
