Stella Page is a Middle School principal suffering from mid career angst in a small New Brunswick town. Then one of the school's First Nations students, Lillian, is accused of murder and will only agree to speak to Stella. Suddenly, Stella finds herself in the midst of a murder investigation and caught between competing interests of others: a distrustful First Nations Community; a Superintendent who doesn't want any problems for him; the RCMP Sergeant in Charge as this is her first Major Crime; her husband who does not want her involved; and her students, who need and trust her to help...

Stella Page is a middle school principal of a small school in Milford New Brunswick Canada. She loves her job (most days) but when confronted with an unreachable boss and an insolent staff member during an emergency she is tested to her limits. A murder during a school lockdown means she has to work with Detective Kate Barthorpe and Constable Jack Rogers to find the killer and bring her school back to safety.
