This study examines the extent to which Khaldun can legitimately be considered a founding father of sociology. To pursue this contention, Khalduns theoretical framework will be compared with four Western scholars: Auguste Comte, Emile Durkheim, Giambattista Vico, and Ludwig Gumplowicz.
