Many years ago, while Anne McCaffrey was writing The Masterharper of Pern - a "biography" of her much-loved fictional musician Masterharper Robinton - she surprised us with a request for music. The idea began with one tune from Robinton's story, but as we worked on it she began suggesting other pieces from her Pern series that she wanted us to compose. After many rough tapes (this was the 1990s - we were using cassettes ) she asked what it would take to get us into a professional studio to make a CD.
