The Shadows is a compilation of poetry written at some of my lowest points. Writing was my refuge from the world that was closing in. The tragedies, heartbreak, deaths and loss have steered the course of my journey thus far. I am however grateful to have been able to pen these words for without this outlet I would be forever engorged by the sadness that then enveloped me. What is life if not a cycle of feelings and who am I, if not a woman that has felt. I am most happy now simply because I remember what it means to have been truly sad.
