It is bloom season on planet Promythica, a time in which the sun shines on the growing sunblossoms and love springs as Orien cannot help being attracted to singer and harpstress, Holli Belle, a former school friend, and will do whatever he can to be a part of her world including joining a select group of friends at a time when such associations could prove risky as the planet is under threat of an underground youth cult known as the Disciples of Dasahd and the dark forces are casting shadows over the colonies.

Orien Sage lives alone and struggles to earn his pay at a small dessert shop. Bryan Paul is a Massachusetts author and poet. From the author's Introduction: "'Playground' is the definitive collection of my poetry work, from the upbeat ones (show me the snowfall/show me flake by flake) to the downer ones (In my cell, I sit/And mourn for the loss of my spirit)... and with the concept of it being my 'playground' I decided to showcase as much of me 'playing' as an artist and even threw in some drawings."
