This report presents a model curriculum for Part 48 new miner training. Basic elements of the model are abstracted from the best practices of industry trainers, augmented by findings from research by the NIOSH's Pittsburgh research laboratory. Taken as a whole, the model can serve as a guideline for applied curriculum development. Trainers will be able to tailor the components to their own needs.
