For as long as any of them could remember the world had been going as The Attanasio family had wanted it to go. They had their friends, allies, soldiers and connections to many in the highest reaches of power. The last of The Shades was pleased to be free of the hateful corrupting influence of The Void of Endings. He was tempted to call himself a victor in the war of ancient spirits that had been waged there but knew how premature that would have been. He also knew he had an enemy left alive from that peculiar prison. He had an enemy he either had to destroy or come to terms with. Now that The Void had collapsed short of fulfilling its intended purpose he was free to wander the world again if he liked. That would have to wait of course and he knew it.
