Through the Tempest is a memoir through poetry, or "moetry" as the author terms it. It is a two part reflection; Into the Storm depicts the arduous journey of entering adulthood with the damaging effects caused by living in an extremely dysfunctional household. After the Clouds chronicles the awakening and resurgence of a talented young person who decided to take control of his life and find peace.

Living is a practice in imperfection, it's proven through our actions and the expectations we give to people. Expecting to find perfection in life is an impossible task, rather than focusing on what life hasn't given us, it's better to accept what is being revealed. When perfection is expected, disappointment will always arise. This poetic story traces life through many of its imperfections; the damage caused by our expectations and those who don't fulfill them, as well as the appreciation given to life by growing through these experiences.
