Seo-hyun is a young female student living in a competitive society that judges different people harshly. She craves to be an artist but is a bit afraid of what people think of her. She is asked by her teacher to befriend a new student-a North Korean defector. Seo-hyun must overcome her own prejudice in order to be a good friend.

Yeong-chul and Sun-ja are underage youth that serve in the Korean War without official military recognition. These fictional characters are inspired by true-life survivors. The Korean War is referred to as the "Forgotten War," but these heroes need to be remembered.
