Aluminium is the most abundant metal known for its neurotoxicity in humans. It has been reported to be involved in the etiology of several neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's disease. This book provides the effectiveness of nitric oxide synthase inhibitors in modulating the toxicity induced by aluminum injections in rats on the biochemical, behavioral and morphological changes. Pretreatment with nitric oxide synthase inhibitors prevented the behavioural deficits induced by aluminium, meaning that they may prevent learning and memory deficits on this model of Alzheimer's disease....
