Nature stuns. I stand speechless. I cry. I cannot facet flawless beauty, nor mirror her in smoky words. Yet I am compelled to try. Unable to adorn, I have cut flesh to bones hoping bare beauty will shine through my failure to honor her. None of these poems play the tune I wish. They sing what they will, and I yield to their songs.

Uplifting yet hard-hitting poems on the aging process--the joys and pains to make the journey richer. This is Gary R Kirby's 4th volume of poetry and a dozen books in other genres. He likes to think that nature sings through him, since inspiration is still a mystery.

Our world is beauty beyond words. And far too often humanity is greedy beyond words. Yet in many of these poems I cry out at the hurt to our earth, and lash out at those who, knowing better, still destroy. This is a harsh book, so you are warned. If you wish to balance these words, another book of mine, The Path of Beauty, shines. This one darkens, curses, and still hopes. Every now and then you many find a laughable, enjoyable poem

Poetic epigrams. Thoughts that can lead to wisdom and goodness, and therefore, happiness. Not a bad bathroom book, too small for the coffee table, but quite possibly a wise addition to your bookshelf and your heart.

That letter It flames verbatim. It is real, sent to college friends. It sets fire to this fiction. No one knew it then, but the world will soon know it... This novel comes as close to reality as the author can make it. Some of it happened, all of it is possible. No one knew in 1743 that five newborn lungs, one of which was Thomas Jefferson, were sucking in the old air of monarchy and breathing out the new air of revolution. Few know now, but many will, that new lungs are breathing a new revolution, the Second American Revolution, unfold...

These poems spring from a deep urge to understand this enormous beautiful painful complex universe, and from the still larger unanswered questions concerning us: those of the mind, of consciousness, of love--questions that connect us as we walk our singular but similar paths with our unique body and mind, for this one so short time. each day is your day like no other day a new birth--a new life present unwrap it joyfully, treasure it massively, your day, tomorrow's day and all the days of your life
