A young man recalls his Appalachian roots as part of the reason why he has no choice but to follow the yearnings of his soul as dictated by the blood line of his ancestry. His adventures as a kid while on vacation with his family, helped crystalize in him, a mystical vision of happiness which inspires him to go on a quest through the counter-culture world of the late 1960s and the early 70s, chasing his dream all over the country, where ever his 'thumb would take him.
