The Happy Go Lucky Storybook is a fictional novel for children ages 8 to 12 years old. It is appropriate for grades 3 to 5, with a Lexile score of 850L. Although he faces reality in a realistic way, ten-year- old Billy Thompson is more than a little unhappy when his father cannot give him a Maltese puppy because they live in an apartment. When his friend Lily comes to his side to help, Billy manages to come up with a puppy plan. When Billy meets with his uncle Todd, he begins to better understand how to carry out his puppy plan but he is not prepared for what happens next.
