West of Boston is a three part novel that takes place in the Northwestern United States and Canada during the late 1950s. The central character, David Fitzgerald, is a naive, sheltered 18-year-old young man from Boston who travels to the Northwest in search of adventure. He becomes involved in events that are sometimes comical, sometimes romantic, and at other times sobering - even life threatening.
