This is an illustrated short story based on the actual reported events of the galliot named the Nyssiens of Warnemunde (1868). Two contradictory versions exist of this story that hint of a phenomenon happening in the late sailing era: buoyant wrecks left drifting on the sea. The Nyssiens was just one example of a ship carrying timber cargo that concluded her shipping days drifting around the ocean as a derelict.
