With the new school year starting for seventh grader Sophie Markman, she wants to try something new, including the prospect of being on a sports team. But with her limited athletic abilities, Sophie decides to join the only sport she qualifies for: badminton. However, the badminton team is different from any other team in school. They don't care if they win their games or not. They're too busy eating snacks, slacking off and having fun. The other teams at school think they're a joke. But they don't mind.
