Florence Orville, once the top agent for the Blanchstone Agengy, and undone by her exposition as a Black woman passing for white, fluctuates between reality and fantasy as she seeks refuge in adventures in the oak tree in her backyard, tormented by her past and an Afrocentric vagabond.
