My first novel was Summer of Love, Semper Fi. I used my Marine experiences to inject authenticity into that book and then expanded upon them to broaden the scope. Three years later I changed the recipe. I kept only the basic ingredients, flour, eggs and butter, added tasty new ingredients, and baked a completely different cake, Always Faithful.
