Italy, in the Seventies. A woman is killed in the Grand Hotel of a lake village. Everything seems clear: next to the body, the husband holds a pistol. However, for the carabinieri marshal Artemio Bisellato, dealing with his last case before retirement, something doesn't add up, despite the imprudent admission of responsibility by the man on the phone. So, he starts an investigation, interlacing the evidence with the variable moods of the village and its people, unsettled just like the winds of the lake and its shifting truths.
