Young Boy determined to fly, works for 2 years during depression to earn $3.00 for first flight. Short period of schooling, employment in defense plant for 35 cents per hour, 8 hours a day, 7 days a week finally enlists on December 7, 1942 at 18 in US Army Air Corps, training experiences, attends Radio and Radar schools, Adventures in India, China with 20th Air Force, travels by ship to Guam, LST to Okinawa and serves with a Marine detachment, until War ends.
