Two girls have the daunting and sometimes terror filled task of trying to save their father's inventions including Robert the Robot. A baby lovely baby Gnu is born but his fur is unlike that with which the other animals are familiar. It shows a tinge of blue when the sun shines on it. This difference causes the other animals to think there is a relationship between the birth of so odd a Gnu and the attacks of a fierce black panther out to kill and eat their children.
