Buddy, a golden retriever owned by Alyssa, doesn't know what is happening in the forest close by his neighborhood. He doesn't know that there are strays there, fighting the seasons to survive, all independent and unable to rely on one other. He doesn't know about the Moondogs who are on the brink of vanishing forever. But mostly, he doesn't know that he's about to be asked by these very same Moondogs to save the strays from a menacing threat... and each other.
