Enjoy summer fun on a peach farm in the Sandhill region of North Carolina. The Braxton family operates their peach stand and pack-house on US-220, a busy highway full of traffic to the beaches. The children are looking forward to fishing, swimming and outings with the church youth group. Aleck, the oldest, has hopes of earning enough for a mini-bike. But complications set in when their business is bypassed by the new highway. Aleck overhears his parents' money worries, so he hatches a plan to save the farm. Then he has to face the consequences of being too creative.

Four years after the new highway US-220 opened, we find the Braxton family has adjusted nicely to selling their peaches at the farmers market on highway NC-211, in Candor, North Carolina. This summer twelve year old Peg is looking forward to being in charge of their market stall so that her older brother, Aleck, can help his dad in the orchard and with deliveries.
