Historian Jack Connelly is making a routine visit to a new archeological site in southern Italy when he mysteriously finds himself in Pompeii as it was nearly 2,000 years ago. It's 79 A.D. and desperation sets in as Jack races against time to get back to present day before the historical - and deadly - eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Trying to avoid the fate he knows will soon befall the residents of Pompeii, matters become even more complicated when he cannot help but get caught up in the lives of Pompeii's residents.
