Boren's Block One: A Sinking Ship is a tome of many tales, sharing stories about the evolution of the human condition as seen through the "eyes" of a small but troubled plot of land in downtown Seattle. Real estate is of course inanimate, but somehow this parcel's past has given it tragic life with the deeds and misdeeds of knowing and unknowing accomplices. It is in fact a uniquely Seattle story, but it need not be, because the same yarns were being spun into whole cloth across America and beyond at the time.
