In a large sense, The Poetry Society of New York's "Translation Project" is an ongoing effort to bring the works of contemporary poets, living and working in diverse cultures, to a broader and multi-lingual audience. Begun in March 2010, the inaugural phase of the project paired poets from The Poetry Brothel in New York City and Prostibulo Poetico in Barcelona to translate each other's new and original work on a monthly basis.
