In 1962, just out of College, I hitch-hiked from Maine to Alaska. During that summer, I wandered around the West and orthwest quite a bit, seeing sights and meeting many interesting people. I made it up the Alaska Highway to Fairbanks. The story is comes from my diary, written 1962, lightly-edited and with some added comments. It is a great young man's adventure.
